ME
I like making things - all kinds of things - especially images...
It's like baking a cake - a little bit of this, a dash of that.
I began playing with my dad's 8mm movie camera when I was 12. I wasn't making the traditional feature length films with the cast of neighborhood kids, I was shooting action shots - POV from a rope swing, downhill shots on my skateboard, or friends trying to ride a baby water buffalo.
I've always been a hands-on guy. If I haven't seen a traditional solution, I create my own. If the resources are limited, I will find a way to make it work with what we have.
This pattern has worked its way into my approach to production. I have worked on every size of production - from multi-million dollar commercial to indie short films. When the budget is big, I use fancier tools. When the budget is small, I figure out how to make images with what we have.
No matter what the budget is, I take the craft of filmmaking seriously, as a matter of pride.
I hope you see some images you like here and consider me for your next production.
NEWS
Here's the Latest.
The short film PIONEER shot last fall for director David Lowery has been doing well on the festival circuit. It premiered at Sundance, won best Short Film in category at SXSW. Has one several other awards that I haven't kept up with. Now it's available for an Oscar Nomination. Fingers crossed.
Here is a music video that I shot with director Roman White for the band SEETHER. We shot it in a little western town near San Antonio , Texas.
The feature film Bad Kids Go to Hell that I shot this summer for director Matthew Spradlin is now in post production. Here's a short teaser clip from the movie. Yes, that's Judd Nelson from "The Breakfast Club" as Headmaster Nash.
